Things that were amazing about yesterday:

  • The introduction of all of the Red Sox alumni that returned for the game, I cried and cried.
  • Having Terry Francona wave right at me.
  • Walking right next to Mike Lowell, so close that we brushed shoulders.
  • The Guster show was incredibly bizarre.
  • Jeff Garlin smushed Lucas’s birthday cake in the face of a man whose request was to come up on stage and sing “Mona Lisa” to his wife.
  • Someone requested “Window” and Ryan claimed, “We decided if anyone requested “Window” we would basically have to play it in their lap.” So they went up into the balcony and played “Window” in some dude’s lap.
  • Guster played “Rainy Day” and I nearly keeled over.
  • I FINALLY MET THIS GUY… after something like, what, nine, ten years?
  • There was a group carrying a life-sized, Rastafarian banana on the train home.

Headed to the Red Sox/Yankees game today and then out for Mike’s birthday. This weekend has been so lovely, and I’m so happy. I’m going to go drink my coffee, get some Thai food and bliss out for a bit.

Jason Varitek, my man.

I might be weeping; that is to say, I am weeping.

Planning sweet, sweet roadtrip of awesome:

Red Sox at Philles, May 20, 1:35 pm
Red Sox at Orioles, May 21, 7:05 pm

This will happen. IT WILL, damn it.

Scutaro to the Rockies for a RHP. But we have six mill, so there’s that?

I’m the only one that cares, right? Checking sports news in a bar and actually texting people about this decision?

It’s okay. It’s okay. I’m totally normal.

Dustin Pedroia Plans To Look Like Dolph Lungren For Start of Spring Training

Lol, WHAT Pedey? You’re ridiculous and I love you.

In the amount of time it took the Sox to re-sign Ellsbury, he stole about seventy thousand bases.

Bobby Valentine officially in as Red Sox manager.

Deets here.

And I seem to be the only one who isn’t completely frowny face. Weird. (I mean, I still miss Tito like hell, obvs…)

NOW IF WE COULD ONLY GET SOME COMPETENT PITCHING, JFC.

Though, yes, now that she says it, I mirror Meg’s sentiments:

Meghan:  he needs to go get some lessons from Belichik about dealing with the media for it to work. Tell them NOTHING and it will be fine. But he definitely isn’t someone who has done that historically. And if he is coerced into saying ONE thing that even slightly nudges a player in front of the bus, I could see it exploding.
